Teron Byrd is an administrative, executive operations, and strategy professional with 5+ years of experience in primary & higher education, healthcare, and the non-profit sector. Prior to joining the Access Psychology Foundation team, he worked as an Executive Assistant and Strategy Project Specialist at Samaritan Daytop Village’s headquarters and Executive Assistant at Graham Windham.
In his early professional career, Teron has not only provided highly organized, administrative support to educational directors and changemakers at Bard College, but also managed administrative projects and operations for schools (Stephen Gaynor School as Educational Executive Administrative Assistant and Trinity School as Admin Coordinator, then Admin Manager), and implemented operational systems to help improve the functionality of the day-to-day in the educational space. In his expansive role at Samaritan, he directly supported executive functions with key administrative and operational projects, while also directly supporting the strategic workflow of several key strategic improvement projects. This included direct project management of: the integration of Samaritan’s vast trauma informed & health-based services, the development of an Employee Engagement and Morale program, and the streamlining of Data Reporting processes & systems.
Teron has also long engaged in community efforts surrounding equalizing education throughout his early professional career: he was SEO Scholars Class of 2017 & served as a Recruitment Alum for SEO, was an Advisory Board Member, social media marketing lead, and a council member of the Black Body Experience Conference at Bard College, a 10+ year conference on highlighting aspects of the Black young female experience, a panelist for the Hannah Arendt Conference 2020 “Tough Talks on Identity”, and currently, a recurring panelist for SEO Scholars Alumni program. He received a Bachelors of Arts from Bard College in 2021, and plans to pursue his Masters in Business Administration in 2025.
